Tucked away in a quiet corner of Dolphin Bay, Ahilya by the Sea is one of Goa’s few properties directly on the ocean. Built as a family home fourteen years ago by the granddaughter of Antonio Xavier Trinidade, Goa’s most famous painter, also known as the Rembrandt of the East, this exquisite hotel is built on the site of the old Portuguese customs houses which guarded the entrance to Panjim.
The property's nine tastefully decorated and welcoming rooms are spread across three independent Portuguese – Balinese style villas made of hand-hewn local laterite rock. Each of the nine rooms boasts stunning views of the sea. They reflect the owner's philosophy of hospitality and understated elegance. Two swimming pools and beautifully landscaped gardens add to the feeling of wellbeing and enjoying the finer things in life.
With its idyllic location adjacent to Coco Beach, Reis Magos fort and church and a short drive from the beaches, nightlife and shopping, Ahilya by the Sea provides the perfect setting for a romantic honeymoon, a weekend getaway or a sun-kissed holiday in Goa.

Ahilya by the Sea is located in Nerul – Reis Magos in north Goa. The hotel is located only minutes away from the Calangute, Candolim and Baga beaches and a short 30 minute drive away from Panjim.
How to get here
Goa International Airport (Dabolim) is approximately 36 km from the hotel (a 60 minute drive).
Madgaon Railway Station is approximately 46 km from the hotel (a 90 minute drive).
Goa is within easy driving distance from Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore.

Leela Villa
Leela’s Villa has pride of place on the property, overlooking an ancient banyan tree, the Sunrise pool, and the Arabian Sea beyond. The villa features the Trindade Suite on the first floor,the Music Suite and the living room on the ground level, and a wrap around verandah where breakfast is sometimes served.
The Trindade Suite, is the hotel’s largest room and the original master bedroom of the house. The suite has sea views throughout, an ocean facing step-out balcony and includes a private seating area ideal for long chats or curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee.
Sunset Villa
Sunset Villa offers four charming, individually decorated bedrooms and a large common living area. In our Rainha category we have Florentina, while Sanyasi, Fakir, and Nascente are of the Princesa category. The villa also features a common living room and verandah for playing board games, finishing that great novel, or tucking into an evening libation (or two!).
Sunrise Villa
Sunrise Villa offers three beautifully decorated rooms in our Rainha category: Barco, Annalia, and Minestrel. All three bedrooms feature well appointed ensuite bathrooms and generous sea views. The villa enjoys its own dining room and has a shady wraparound verandah for the perfect afternoon sit out.
