The Chatwal

New York City

USA

A Luxury Collection Hotel located in the heart of Manhattan, The Chatwal Hotel bridges classic and contemporary like no other. Nestled between Rockefeller Centre, Bryant Park, and the Theatre District, this beautiful landmark hotel built originally in 1905 by Stanford White has been restored and renewed by master architect Thierry Despont and re-launched in 2010.

The Chatwal’s 76 keys include 29 stunning Suites and 12 ‘themed’ suites with spacious designer terraces as well as bespoke services including a team of professional Butlers, 24-hour in-room dining, and distinct private bars. The individual design traits of the rooms pay homage to the hotel’s surroundings, offering a unique opportunity for those wishing to truly experience New York City Culture.

Before becoming The Chatwal New York and Lambs Club Restaurant and Bar, this iconic Stanford White-designed building was the epicenter of American culture for the 20th century. The building originally opened in 1905 as home to the prestigious Lambs, America’s first professional theatrical club. Organized in 1874 by a group of actors and enthusiasts, The Lambs occupied a series of rented quarters before settling at 44th Street. The American club took their name from a similar group in London, which flourished from 1869-1879, in the name of drama critic and essayist Charles Lamb.
