The Blackbuck Lodge is situated opposite Velavadar Village, near Velavadar National Park, Dist. Bhavnagar. It is a 60 minute drive from the Bhavnagar railway station or airport (65 km). The Ahmedabad airport is at a distance of 160 km (approximately 3 hrs driving time).
How to get here
The nearest airport to Velavadar is Bhavnagar, which is 65 kms from Velavadar. Mumbai is connected to Bhavnagar through daily domestic flights. Ahmedabad airport is at a distance of 160 kms which is a 4-hour from Velavadar and it receives international and domestic flights.
Nearest railway station is at the town of Dhala, which is about 50km from the park. Bhavnagar is the nearest railhead, connected by trains from Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
The nearest town, Valabhaipur, is 32 km away, and Ahmedabad 145 km away. If you come by private vehicle, the Blackbuck Lodge is entered from Valabhaipur on the old highway or Adhelai on the Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway.

Spread over 34.52 sq km, Velavadar National Park has India's largest population of Blackbuck. Guests may also see the endangered Indian Grey Wolf, Nilgai or Blue Bull, Striped Hyena, Indian Fox, Golden Jackal and many other species of mammals.
Velavadar National Park and its nearby wetlands comprise an important Bird Area notified by Birdlife international. The park is a good place to watch grassland birds like Sandgrouse, Francolins, Quails, Saras Crane and Stolikza's Bushchat.
In winter Velavdar National Park hosts the world's largest harrier roost - Montagu's Harrier, Pallid Harrier and Marsh Harrier can be seen in large numbers.
The Blackbuck Lodge takes you on a game drive in its own fleet of customized 4X4 vehicles accompanied by professionally trained guides. The morning drive starts at dawn and usually lasts for about 2 hours and the evening drive starts at 4pm and also lasts about 2 hours. On prior intimation, full day drives can also be arranged.
The Blackbuck Lodge offers a unique backdrop for a conference or meeting of up to 25-30 people. The Lodge is equipped with high-speed Internet and high definition projector with screen. With a relaxed setting and attentive well-trained staff, we offer the perfect setting for all manner of events.
