The Founders of 1524 Delhi have over 50 years of operations, sales and business management experience in luxury hotels and travel related services. Encouraged by the exponential growth in travel from and within India, in 2011, we founded a Sales & Marketing representation company to promote some of the world’s most famous luxury hotel brands to travellers and travel arrangers in India and South East Asia.
As we established our business, we felt the tug of two strong currents driving the luxury travel and lifestyle industry.
In recent years, India has recorded its fastest growth in personal wealth. With the exponential growth in affluence, there is a large and rapidly growing segment of wealthy individuals with the desire to explore the world and experience the extraordinary. They possess the means to indulge their passion. However, given their commitments, the one thing they do not possess is the luxury of time to seek out and plan their next adventure.
At the same time, India and Asia have witnessed the emergence of exceptional boutique hotels, resorts and safari lodges. Each property is unique with distinct characteristics, individual charm and experiences that set it apart from other hotels – chain or individual. While they are exceptional and created with enormous passion, independent hotels have limited reach or Sales & Marketing resources – inadvertently making them “hidden gems” or “the best-kept secret”.
Encouraged by friends who are hotel owners, travellers or travel industry colleagues, in 2017, we founded 1524 Delhi to serve as a bridge that introduces exceptional hotels and experiences to discerning individuals. Thereby helping them to discover their passion.

Our Team
Aakriti Batra
Chief Executive & Co-Founder
Aakriti has over 15 years of executive and leadership experience with some of the world’s finest luxury hotel companies. She started her journey with The Imperial, New Delhi and The Oberoi Group in India, and promoted the international luxury hotel collection managed by Singapore-based Heavens Portfolio, before joining Premier Hotels of Asia in 2013. Over the past six years, Aakriti has personally led business relations for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in India, acting as their Sales and Marketing representative in India for the luxury hotel chain.
In 2017, Aakriti partnered with Karan to found 1524 Delhi – a boutique Luxury Lifestyle Services and Marketing firm. She leads marketing and strategic alliances for the firm.
Aakriti holds a graduate degree in Hotel Management with a Masters degree in Tourism Marketing & Management from Bournemouth University, UK. A curious soul with an eye on the next travel trend, Aakriti brings to the table an innate feel for luxury travel and strong personal relationships with key travel agencies and associations in the corporate and luxury travel market.
Karan Singh
Chairman & Co-Founder
Karan has more than 30 years of experience in the Hospitality, Travel and Diversified Financial Services businesses with two of the world’s most respected service brands – American Express and The Oberoi Group. Prior to founding Premier Hotels of Asia & 1524 Delhi, he was Vice President – Sales at The Oberoi Group. He also served as Head American Express Travel and Foreign Exchange Services in India and held board positions at American Express and Tata Finance American Express Limited.
An alumnus of The Oberoi School of Hotel Management, Mayo College and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, Karan has hands on experience in the travel business in key markets across India. A keen sportsman and a member of some of India’s most prestigious clubs and associations, Karan has an extensive network and strong relationships with business leaders within the travel and corporate fraternity.
Ruhi Batra
Director - PR & Communication
Ruhi helps people and brands connect the dots, and to build and elevate a public profile - in line with their goals - with a strong focus on top-tier editorial outlets. Of the opinion that authenticity always wins in the long run, and credibility is the biggest weapon in your arsenal, Ruhi has worked with some of the hottest and biggest names in the alternative culture space in India, and is a core part of the team behind festivals like Magnetic Fields.
Before crossing over to the world of PR, Ruhi spent a decade working at India’s largest-selling daily The Times of India and rose through the ranks, successfully making the transition from being a sports journalist to being the premier music correspondent for Times Crest and features writer for Sunday Times of India.
As a sports journalist, her core areas of interest were the global sports of tennis and motorsports, and she covered several international events including Grand Slams (Wimbledon 2005), ATP events (Chennai 2006, Mumbai 2007) and Grands Prix across the world.
As a feature writer, Ruhi’s forte was writing on topics as diverse as electronic music to food trends to luxury brands and she brings her journalistic experience and nose for news to her role as Director of PR at 1524 Delhi.
When not busy chasing follow up emails or deadlines, Ruhi can often be found sampling the city's best cocktails and continuing her lifelong research for her favourite lemon tart.
Man Singh
Director - Lifestyle
Mānu is a champion Skeet shooter, an international athlete and intrepid traveller. A two
time National Champion, he has won a number of International and Indian awards and
accolades including three gold medals at the Asian Shooting Championship in Malaysia
where he equaled the Asian record.
As a member of the Indian shooting team for over a decade and a half, Manu has had the
unique opportunity to traverse the world and experience diverse destinations, from quaint
hamlets off the beaten path, to the great international metropolises.
Combining his extensive travel and an unerring taste for the exceptional, artisanal and
smart, Manu is on a mission to unearth and present unique and exceptional objects for discerning individuals.
