With an easy access from Delhi, Villa in the Woods at RAAS Devānya is in the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand at an altitude of about 6700 feet. Located between Bhimtal and Mukteshwar (via Padampuri) in the Himalayan forests of Deodar, Oak and Rhododendron, Devānya is an eco-friendly sanctuary.
How to get here
2.5 hours from the Pantnagar airport, which is serviced daily by Indigo from New Delhi. Alternately, you could fly to Bareilly airport directly from Mumbai and Bangalore. The Villa can arrange for transfers from the nearest airport or railway station.
Train journey of 5 hours 50 minutes from Delhi to Kathgodam on the Shatabdi. The villa is a 75 minute drive from Kathgodam.
If you are driving from Delhi, it takes 6.5 hours to reach Devānya. Plus: Devānya’s helipad is available to guests for use.

Drawing from the Kumaoni-style koti-banal architecture, the villa has been built using local timber and stone. Built on stilts and across three levels, it evokes the childhood feeling of hiding away in a treehouse — an extremely luxurious one at that.
The uppermost level houses two bedrooms, including the master. While the lowermost level has the third bedroom (ideal for children). The living and dining areas are on the middle level. The north-facing deck and the south-facing terrace of this level and the bedrooms on the upper level open out to panoramic views of the surrounding hillside.

For the spiritually inclined the ancient shrines and cave sites of Kasar Devi, Jageshwar and Gananath are within driving distance. Guided trips and transport to any or all can be organised on request.
